GSLFIA By-Laws Article II
Purpose
of Association: The
purpose of the Association shall be to promote aviation safety and
improvement
of flight instruction techniques by increasing education, instructor knowledge,
professionalism,
and techniques. This will be
accomplished through the exchange of ideas and techniques
between
instructors, developing effective communications and / or liaison with the FAA
and / or other
desirable
aviation interested entities. We
deliver ideas and techniques the associate with sponsor FAA
Safety Clinics, FAA Wings Programs,
and sponsoring an “FAA approved” Flight Instructors Revalidation
Clinics and other
Seminars.
Flight Instructor
Scholarships
Our association has
developed a scholarship for flight instructor members of GSLFIA toward
obtaining
an advanced
rating. The scholarship will provide
training to qualified applicants who promote safety,
knowledge, professionalism, and proficiency in their flight
instruction. The scholarship will be
awarded
to
individuals selected by the board of directors of the GSLFIA or by a committee
determined by the
board. The award will cover the flight instruction
necessary to complete the rating by a GSLFIA flight
instructor,
checkride by a GSLFIA designee, and the aircraft rental fees up to a
pre-determined amount.
Membership Meetings
Members meet every other
month at various locations on the second Monday of odd number months.
Meetings are announced in the
monthly newsletter. After a brief review
of business topics, each meeting
hosts a
speaker on a flight instructor educational topics. These meetings are often held at facilities
where
that
educational opportunity can be enhanced.
